There are several methods for measuring water usage in a submetered system. The 2 most popular submetering systems these days are wireless meters that report usage over cellular networks or drive-by meters that require a meter reader to physically drive by and collect usage data.
Wireless meters that report usage over cellular networks can report data several times a day.
