What is a submetering gateway?
A submetering gateway, sometimes called a data collector or concentrator, is the device that pulls readings from all the meters on a property and passes them along for billing. Individual meters and wireless repeaters send their reads to the gateway, and the gateway forwards that data, often over a cellular or network connection, so reads can be collected daily without anyone walking the property. The equipment you buy is nonproprietary, meaning you own it and it carries a warranty. Where the gateway sits
Think of the gateway as the hub. Each meter takes a reading, wireless repeaters relay those readings across the property, and the gateway collects everything in one place before sending it on.
