• Everyone knows cars are a huge source of air pollution. Try alternate modes transportation, walk, bike, bus, even carpool. Every car thats not on the road is helping to reduce pollutants.
• Make your home resource efficient. Install energy saving light bulbs and low flow water fixtures.
• Lawn maintence requires a lot of fertilizers and pesticides. Go natural. All of those chemicals can contaminate the enviorment and ruin our drinking water!.
• Refill plastic drinking bottles and save plastic utensils.
• A large portion of our trash could be reused for other products! Aluminum, glass, plastics, newspaper, printer paper.All of these items are ripe for recycleing to conserve our resources.

 

At Work

• Maximize daylight hours and turn off unneeded office lights.
• If you do require artificial light, use energy star approved lamps and eco friendly bulbs.
• Recycling isnt just for the home. All of the copy paper, aluminum cans, and plastics that can be found around the office can also be reused.
• Look for ways to improve printing efficiency. Print on the backs of old documents, or focus more on using email and other electronic media.
• Look for recycled paper stock when buying. This is sometimes called post-consumer waste. Also look for non chlorinated or non bleached paper.
• Check to see if your printer has an econo mode.
• Set all elctrictronics ( computer, printers, faxes, ect) to hibernate after an alloted amount of time idle.
• Use a power strip to plug in your equipment so you can easily shut everything down at the end of the day
• Instead of waiting for the elevators. walk between office floors.

Utility Submetering Systems

• Wireless/Remote - Each individual submeter is equipped with a radio transmitter. These transmitters count the number of times a meter turns or pulses. A data collector, located at the property, collects the information from the transmitters, and reports it back to the company providing billing services. Wireless submeters can be installed inside or outside each unit.
• Electronic - Utility Submeters readings are collected from radio transmitters by a technician onsite, using either a portable read collector with antenna, or a touch-based data collector. Submeters can be installed either inside or outside each unit.
• Manual - A Manual system requires each meter to be visually read by a technician. These meters are usually located outside each unit.
